Director and Co-producer
— Claire Lawrence
Claire is made her directorial debut after treading the boards with the group
and producing the show for the previous five pantomimes.
Combining directing with producing is a bit like the challenges of her two day jobs
- combining teaching with de-cluttering; fun, challenging and exhausting
all wrapped up with a good dose of total exhilaration!
She was particularly thrilled to have all her family in the cast,
and to have such fantastic support from the Hurst Pantomime Committee.
Co-producer
— Ann Guile
This was Ann's third production with Hurst Pantomime Group
and her first as co-producer.
Her involvement in the Group over the past productions has ranged
from supportive mother to coordinating hair, make up and costumes and keeping the fairy godmother
in check as the 'SAT NAV' in the previous production of Cinderella.
She is used to having to juggle many balls,
so her role as co-producer played to her strengths,
with the challenging task of helping to plan
and pull together all the various elements of the production ... hopefully without making too many U-turns!
Artistic Director and Writer
— Jonathan de Mounteney
Joe wrote and directed
Cinderella (2015) and
co-wrote and directed Peter Pan (2015).
He played Nurse Nitwit in Babes in the Wood (2011) and
Prince Charles in Jack and the Beanstalk (2009).
By day, Joe is a barrister and a
painter of pictures - a selection of which can be seen on
his website.
Musical Director
— Donald Stewart
This was Donald's first attempt at directing the Hurst Panto's music,
having failed to duck when a finger was pointed in his direction in the Castle pub some time ago.
Having fiddled his way through Cinderella, they told him this was a promotion.
On receiving the first version of the script,
Donald retired to a dark pub in Donegal for a week,
seeing daylight only briefly on his way to the fish and chip van parked outside.
Panto rehearsals pushed his piano playing abilities to their limit
so Donald was pleased that the rest of the band were able to cover up his inadequacies.
Choreographers
— Katy Lawrence, Hannah Guile, Lulu Briggs & Emma Vaughan
Totalling over 40 years of dance experience,
our new choreography team drew on their training and their strengths to bring to life our song and dance numbers.
After performing in other Panto productions and Madelaine Kelly dance shows,
the girls enjoyed the chance to bring some youthful energy into our show.
Please join us in congratulating them on their first foray into the world of choreography.
